TOMORROW'S PERFORMANCE BUILT ON
YESTERDAY'S FOUNDATION
When the Great Spirit
willed to create the horse, He said to the south wind "I will that a creature
should proceed from thee, Condense thyself." And the wind condensed itself.
Then came the angel Gabriel saying, "I have called thee horse. I have attached
good fortune to the hair that falls between thine eyes. Thou shall be lord
of all other animals, and men shall follow thee wheresoever thou goest. Thou
shall fly without wings and upon thy back shall riches repose and through
thy means shall blessings come."

ROCKIN'
Mc FARMS is located in northwest Mississippi on
the rolling hills of Tate County east of the little town of Senatobia. It
was established in 1997 and is owned and operated by Tony and Leslee
McCallum.
Both Tony and Leslee share a love of horses and have pursued training in
natural methods of equine structural management. They are both also 2nd Degree
Reiki Practitioners and National Registry Paramedics.
Tony has ridden and shown horses most of his life. He was fortunate enough
to meet up with a master Horseman sometime back from whom he not only learned
about horses but also life. The relationships he developed with both man
and horse using the techniques he learned, have taught him that taking the
time to understand that no horse or rider should be grouped together in a
box or a level, and can best learn from what they know. He works with both
horse and rider to achieve the goal of having a horse that is partner. He
is also trained in equine acupressure and is certified in equine structural
adjustment. Tony takes in a select few horses to ride each year.
Leslee began teaching riding lessons at a young age and has carried that
love of horses throughout her life. She is also a massage therapist and was
trained in equine structural integration in Love, Colorado by Greg Wilder,
and teaches EMS at a local community college when not working with people
and horses.
Tony and Leslee met in 1995 when they responded with a critical incident
stress management team to the bombing in Oklahoma City. They were impressed
by the spirit of the people they met as the community placed their faith
in God and their energy into rebuilding their lives. They made some lifelong
friends and returned to Oklahoma City in 1997 to be married at a little outdoor
chapel near the bomb site. "So much more than pain came from this tragedy
that we wanted to show that out of tragedy sometimes something good can grow.
We wanted to celebrate the spirit of endurance that the people of OKC showed
us by getting married here" says Leslee. They have been asked to feature
their story in the memorial in Oklahoma City.
We strive to train and breed horses that will perform well on the ranch,
in the arena or riding the trails. We have chosen the bloodlines that we
feel will excel in all of this, such as the Hancock x Blue Valentine. We
are crossing this great bloodline on some of the "newer" ones such as Little
Peppy, Doc O' Lena, and CD Lena. These horses are showing not only a tremendous
amount of athletic ability but a real willingness to become a partner with
their rider. We start our training program early and our babies are halter
broke, leading easily and loading in a trailer by the time they are weanlings.
As yearlings we start their ground work and build on their skills and manners
so that when they are two year olds they are started. After a couple of rides
we ride them out to keep them interested by checking and pushing cattle and
getting them used to a rope. Tony believes that a horse needs a job to do
to mentally stimulate them. "I don't like to keep them in a round corral
too long, I think it gets really boring to the horse" says Tony. Because
of this our horses really do well in the ranch horse classes.
Please visit our sale page for a complete list of horses that are available.
If you don't see what you are looking for drop us a line, we will be happy
to assist you in locating just the right partner.

"My goal for the horse is for us to someday
be in perfect harmony...
Even though I will never hold it in my hand,
working for this goal is very real & rewarding."
